SPG makes efforts to promote sea-rail combined transportation

The 2nd Development Forum of Sea-rail Combined Transportation and 2023 RCEP Trade and Global Logistics Seminar kicked off in Qingdao on Feb 28, and was hosted by the China Communications and Transportation of Association, Shandong Transportation Department and Shandong Port Group (SPG). The event aimed at promoting the high-quality development of multi-modal transportation, with sea-rail combined transportation being the main focus to improve the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership and regional logistics services.

 

In recent years, as China has implemented the strategic goal of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality, multi-modal transportation and sea-rail combined transportation have become a significant backbone for China's move to build itself into a country with strong transportation network and develop comprehensive transportation network. It is also a significant measure for the country to adjust its transportation structure, lower costs and increase profits in the logistics sector.

Since its establishment on Aug 6, 2019, SPG has set its goal of moving faster to become a world-class sea port operatorand accomplish swift and steady progress in its transformative and high-quality growth. In 2022, SPG's overall cargo throughput exceeded 1.6 billion metric tons and its container volume surpassed 37 million twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs), ranking first and third globally, respectively. SPG has fully leveraged its role as a pivotal platform and secured a sound performance in sea-rail combined transportation. Currently, SPG has opened 327 container routes, ranking first in northern China for route number and density. It has also launched 82 freight train routes and set up 32 inland ports to create an efficient and convenient logistics corridor for import and export enterprises to expand in overseas markets. Last year, SPG's sea-rail combined transportation exceeded three million TEUs, ranking first among China's coastal ports for the past years.

SPG has also played an active role in integrating into the national comprehensive multi-modal transportation network, with sea-rail combined transportation as its core, and achieved outstanding achievements in the construction of the sea-rail combined transportation network. It has actively coordinated railway stations to cut down railway freight rates, which has effectively lowered the logistics costs for import and export companies. Efforts have also been made to introduce new handling mode for inbound and outbound products that are transported to and from ports via rail.  

Going forward, SPG plans to work together with railways, customs departments and other port-related institutions to comprehensively promote the rapid integration of "sea-rail combined transport + industry". It intends to take advantage of the reopening of the Xiaoqing River in Jinan to accelerate the sea-rail combined transport, sea-river combined transport and container multimodal transport, as part of its efforts to become an efficient shipping outlet and a gateway for resource circulation. The overall aim is to make greater contributions to achieving carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals and serve the new development pattern.

山东港口出席第二届铁水联运发展论坛暨2023RCEP贸易与跨境物流研讨会

2月28日,由中国交通运输协会、山东省交通运输厅、山东省港口集团主办的第二届铁水联运发展论坛暨2023RCEP贸易与跨境物流研讨会在青举办。本届论坛旨在推进以铁水联运为代表的多式联运高质量发展,积极服务RCEP,完善和提升区域内物流服务水平。

近年来,在国家落实“双碳”战略背景下,以集装箱铁水联运为代表的多式联运,成为实现交通强国战略、发展综合交通运输体系的重要支撑,也是推进运输结构调整、促进物流业降本增效的重要举措。

山东港口自组建以来,锚定“加快建设世界一流的海洋港口”目标,转型发展、高质量发展蹄疾步稳,2022年货物吞吐量突破16亿吨,集装箱量突破3700万标箱,居全球第一、第三位。山东港口充分发挥枢纽平台作用,在高水平谋划、高质量布局海铁联运网络方面取得了良好成效。目前,海向共开通327条集装箱航线,数量和密度稳居中国北方港口首位;陆向共运营82条海铁联运班列、布局建设32个内陆港,为进出口企业搭建起高效便捷的出海大通道。2022年,山东港口海铁联运箱量突破300万标箱,连续多年保持全国沿海港口第一位。

山东港口积极融入以铁水联运为核心的全国多式联运综合运输物流体系建设,在铁水联运通道建设等方面取得了突出成就。积极协调批复管内站点铁路运费下浮政策,有效降低广大进出口企业综合物流成本,缓解企业经营压力。加快推进铁路集疏港进口货物操作新模式。

面向未来,山东港口携手铁路、海关等部门,全面推动“海铁联运+产业”快速融合发展。以山东小清河复航为契机,加快发展海铁联运、河海联运和集装箱“多式联运”,当好便捷高效的出海口和要素流通的门户,为实现“双碳”目标、服务构建新发展格局作出更大贡献。
